Topic: Lighting Up LAMP – A Basic Overview of Performance Tuning for Apache

In this talk we will cover some of the tools, tricks, and tuning you can do to make your LAMP environment perform like it should. Some of the items this will cover include outside factors that affect performance, server side tuning, application optimization, new and sometimes strange ways to solve problems, and lots of pretty graphs to help put all these things into perspective.

About the Speaker

Chris Layton hails from the tech trenches in Memphis,TN where he kept the packets flowing for over a decade for a locally owned ISP as a Senior Engineer. At some point in 2010 the call of the mountains, and large supercomputers, in the Knoxville area proved too strong and he moved out east to work at Oak Ridge National Labs on the HPC Infrastructure team.   When he is not hacking away at a keyboard Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter (usually outdoors), racing small sports cars, and travelling.

Chris also serves on the LOPSA Tech Team.
